a very sentimental day

today was a very meaningful day, it was my first time visiting my great grandma's farm house in buena vista, georgia. the circumstances were hard, she passed away last night, but there was alot of love there, and it was a beautiful place. my dad has been going to her house with his cousins since he was a little boy, the house is over 100 years old.

my great grandpa was born in this house!

my great grandma barbara was 92 years old and she had a wonderful life filled with a great family and lots and lots of memories. here she is with her sister at her 90th birthday party.

auntie jana and uncle jamen were there too, along with my daddy's aunt judy. they all told really neat stories about my great grandma and about the beautiful house she lived in.

it was special getting to be there and to look at pictures of dad when he was little like me. one of the pictures i really, really loved. mommy told me that it was a picture of my grandma janet. when she told me that, i put my face very close and just stared at her, then i leaned in and kissed the picture. (it was amazing!)

after we spent the day there, we went to visit my grandma where she is buried. my daddy goes there and sees her alot and wanted us to go with him this time. i really wish i had a chance to meet my grandma, everyone says she was very special.
